sunny days

The weather right now is making work nearly impossible. I can not stop thinking about being outside and enjoying a cold beverage... or ten. I have officially checked out of winter and am in full spring mode. I am so ready for spray tans and beach trips and cook outs with friends. Hurry up, spring time!

Working last night makes for quite a sleepy morning, but I headed to the gym this morning to get my back and ab work out in. Today, I did lat pull downs, pull ups, rows, low back extensions, and dumbbell one arm rows. For abs, I did some leg lifts, anchored sit ups with a medicine ball, and oblique twists with the medicine ball. Tonight, Mike and I are going running outside, so I will get my cardio in then.

I need to get to the gym pretty early tomorrow, so I can get my strength training and cardio in before work. I love running outside, so I haven't been getting there very early in the last few weeks. But, we are meeting some friends after work tomorrow to have drinks outside since the weather is so nice (read above), so I wont be able to fit in a run.  I would really love to get a run in outdoors somewhere tomorrow morning, but I am just not sure how that will work out with carpooling with Mike, getting a shower, etc.

Yesterday, I threw together a quick lunch of what I like to call 'Lindsay's Special.' My friend Lindsay always talks about eating muenster and raspberry sandwiches and they sound sooo delicious. I have been having these sandwiches a lot lately, and I love them even more with a fried egg, but since I was putting it together at work, an egg was not an option. On the side, leftover party taters and an apple.

I enjoyed my lunch outside yesterday since it was so beautiful out there. I think I am almost at a point that I would cry if the weather goes back to being anything but warm and sunny. I must be really lacking in some vitamin D.

After leaving my day job, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, my standard driving to the hospital dinner. By the time I pulled in the driveway from the hospital last night, my stomach was growling and I was starving. I knew I didn't want to eat anything right before heading to bed, but I had to have something. I grabbed a big spoonful of almond butter and a small glass of milk, which was perfect.

I was surprised that Mike was awake when I got home, since normally he picks me up when I work until 11. I thought for sure that since he didn't have to come get me, he would be snoozing by the time I came home. He had made us lunches, made himself breakfast for today, straightened up the house, ran some laundry, took Franklin for a 4 mile run, and did various other things in the 4 hours I was at the hospital. I was quite impressed.

This morning, Mike had a fresh glass of juice ready for me before we left for work. I drank it on the way to the gym. It had apple, carrot, pear, and orange in the mix and it was really good.

When I got to work after the gym, I had a whole wheat bagel thin with chocolate chip cookie dough almond butter and a small banana.

My lunch today was a spring mix salad with tomatoes, carrots, quinoa, and grilled chicken. I put a little balsamic vinegar in there too, to give it a little flavor. Also, a greek yogurt and an apple.

I just went outside during my lunch break and it took everything I had to come back in here. Everything.

Go out and enjoy this gorgeous day if you can!
